Rent masseria in Salento – unique location for both a holiday and wedding. This old farmhouse, which is totally enclosed by stone walls, is located in the countryside of “Greek Salento”at short distance from Otranto and Lecce.

With its small chapel dedicated to St. Michael Archangel from the early 1800’s and its oven, this masseria served as a typical gathering centre for farmers. The tower dates back to 1606 and has undergone different expansions over the centuries, until reaching the farmhouse. After a long period of abandon, the current owners restarted the agricultural activities producing an excellent olive oil, spelt, legumes, and other products. Rent masseria in Salento, which was renovated preserving its calling for hospitality for which it was characterized years ago.

From one of the gates along the main road, one enters the property through a beautiful long lane enclosed by stone walls along with mirth and Indian fig plants reaching the parking area (part of it is shaded). From the parking area (partially shaded ), through a first arch, one enters a first courtyard with a the small chapel and where the building of the 3 Guest Rooms develop, two of which look out on it (the third one looks upon the dependence, olive grove and fields). A second arch introduces us to the “Piazza” (rectangular shaped approx 600sqm large) around which the main part of the masseria develops.

From the right, anti clockwise, the main large and equipped kitchen with dining area, a small shaded outdoor area, a small gates which leads us to the swimming pool area and agricultural fields (naturally integrate in the architectural garden design); furthermore a large living room with guest bathroom, the old oven, the Tower which is the owner’s private area (not rented out) followed by a large living room with Home Theatre, billiard (Carambola and Pool table – 1.45m wide and 2.8m long) and playing tables, then a large portico (4 large open vaulted ceilings, equipped with outdoor furniture) with a beautiful view over Piazza and garden with old olive trees, the dependence and far at the end of the property the annex (which is also accessible from the back of the Masseria along a lane where on each side different varieties of fig trees have been planted) and last but not least, the Guest Room.

The Dependance, accessible from the first courtyard through a small paved alley or through the portico, is comprised of a living room- kitchen area, 2 connecting double bedrooms with a shared bathroom and small enclosed garden and a master bedroom, with a bathroom, its own equipped external courtyard and a furnished garden (with outdoor shower) where to enjoy meals. The 3 Guest Rooms (twins which could became doubles on request), 2 of which are connecting, each with its own bathroom, are located on the ground floor of the main farmhouse, adjacent to the portico and the Dependence. On the other side of the olive grove, at the end of the property, the Annex with 2 twin bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, outdoor shower and pergola with a beautiful view overlooking the masseria, olive groves and cultivated fields.

The main part of the Masseria, Guest Rooms and Dependence have many different courtyards, enclosed gardens and open equipped spaces which the landlady, with the same ability and sensitivity of a garden designer, has greatly enriched various types of plants, vegetables and fruit trees. The beauty of the it all is also given by the fact the actual farming is part of it’s the architectural design. This farm gives guests true moments of relax and pure meditation, like it used to be in an agricultural Salentine village a long time ago.
